Ceive opened in 2017 as a four-perfumer collective tired of fragrance retail's reliance on commissions, gifts-with-purchase, and overheated copy. We built a quiet alternative: members and consultations pay for the work, our perfumers serve clients rather than counters, and our editorial voice tries to dignify the language around fragrance — which is more interesting, and more useful, than the marketing tends to suggest.
How we work
Every consultation is led by a named perfumer with at least eight years' professional experience. We don't sell fragrance directly. We help you understand what to seek out and how to think about what you're already wearing.
How we earn trust
No retail margins. No affiliate links. No paid placements. Memberships and consultations fund the entire operation, which keeps our recommendations accountable to clients rather than houses.
